Jason Mwanza is a seasoned Engineer with over 15 years of telecommunication experience spanning across Network Planning, Implementation, Operations and Project Management.

Mr. Mwanza holds a Master of Business Administration from Edinburgh Business School of Heriot-Watt University in Scotland, a Master of Science in Telecommunications Engineering from Blekinge Institute of Technology of Sweden and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical/Electronics – Telecommunications from the Copperbelt University.

He has over 19 years experience spanning across technology planning, Operations and Maintenance, Business Development of Mobile Services and Strategic Management, giving confidence of his ability to lead Zamtel into a new era of growth.

In his previous roles at Zamtel, he served as the Chief Technical Officer, overseeing the company's technology evolution strategy and capabilities. He also served as Senior Manager Network Planning and Fixed Network Operations, demonstrating his deep understanding of the telecommunications industry. Most recently, he served as Acting Chief Executive Officer until his new appointment.

He inspired the turnaround strategy and introduced a monitoring and evaluation framework that led to significant improvements in productivity and efficiency at Zamtel. His initiatives resulted in notable achievements, key among them was revenue growth averaging above 60% during the turnaround period from July 2023 to December 2023.

He is currently a Fellow of the Engineering Institute of Zambia and a Fellow of the ICT Association of Zambia where he also served as Chairperson of the Technical Committee.

Jonathan Bwembya Malama is a legal practitioner and advocate of the High Court of Zambia with several years of practice experience.

Jonathan was called to the bar in January 2004.

He holds an LLB from the University of Zambia and a basic Commercial Law Training in Stock Broking and Investment Advisory.

He joined Zamtel in February 2013 as Legal Counsel and also serves as Company Secretary for Zamtel Mobile Money Limited (a subsidiary of Zamtel).

Between 2008-09, Jonathan undertook consultancy work for the Zambia AIDS-Law Research and Advocacy Network to review all Zambian Laws with a focus on provisions covering HIV/AIDS and human rights.

Jonathan currently serves as Board Member of Advocacy for Child Justice.

Jonathan Bwembya Malama Chief Legal and Regulatory Officer

Prior to his appointment as Chief Audit and Risk Officer, Kapembwa worked as Senior Manager-Internal Audit at Zamtel from July 2015 to August 2018 when he assumed his current role.

As Senior Manager Internal Audit, Kapembwa transformed and modernised the Zamtel Internal Audit (IA) department, aligning it to the current practices and thinking in the profession.

Kapembwa brings vast local and international experience in audit and risk advisory functional setup and management, having worked in senior management positions at Citibank, Zambia Revenue Authority and the Zambia National Commercial Bank.

He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), a Fellow of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (FCCA), a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified in COBIT Foundation - an IT Governance Framework. He is a member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), and the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) respectively.

Kapembwa serves as Board Member of Stewards Globe Limited and is the current Audit Committee Chairman for the Ministry of Works and Supply Audit Committee.

He is also a member of the Audit and Risk Committee of the Mulungushi International Conference Centre, Board Member and Standards and Ethics Chair for the Institute of Internal Auditors Zambia, and is a Member of the Technical Committee spearheading the process of drafting the Bill for the establishment of the Zambia Institute of Internal Auditors, a body that is expected to regulate the Internal Audit Profession in Zambia, as approved by Cabinet.

Kapembwa Sindano Chief Audit and Risk Officer

James Chona is an accomplished Technical, Project Management and Commercial Business professional with a wealth of experience spanning over two decades in various sectors, including Aviation, Telecommunication, Banking, and Consumer Electronics.

Currently serving as the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), James oversees Sales and Distribution, Marketing, and Mobile Money, driving business growth by implementing commercial strategies that ensure Zamtel's market expansion.

James' extensive qualifications include PRINCE2 accreditation, a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Telecommunication Major) from Copperbelt University, a Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering from Zambia Air Services Training Institute, and an Advanced Certificate in Telecommunication Market Policy and Regulation from Blekinge Institute of Technology in Karlskrona, Sweden.

James Chona Chief Commercial Officer

Joshua Malupenga is a qualified Charted Accountant with over 21 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, investments, audit, risk management and human resource management.

Joshua is also a Fellow of both the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) of the United Kingdom and Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants.

He also holds a Bachelor of Accountancy Degree from the Copperbelt University in Zambia.

Joshua joined Zamtel in January 2019 as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to his appointment, he worked for ZSIC Group and Energy Regulation Board as Group Director-Finance and Investments and Director - Finance and Administration respectively.

He currently serves as member of the Finance and Investments Committee of the Board for ZSIC Life Limited and the Audit & Risk Committee for Kafue Gorge Regional Training Center.
